Holy Yum

If you have been around the blogging world much, you have heard of the beautiful creation of overnight oats. I have an obsession with oatmeal and until recently have only read of these mysterious concoctions through my favorite bloggers Kath, Tina, and Emily (just to name a few).

Well, this past weekend I needed my oatmeal fix, however Arkansas weather doesn't quite call for a steaming bowl of oatmeal in June. Instead, I decided to join the crowd and see if overnight oats would hold up to their reputation.

Holy Yum! What took me so long?
My simple mixture consisted of...
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups vanilla almond milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp of ground flax meal
...placed in a practically empty jar of PB and popped into the fridge to soak overnight.

These add-ins are all I had on hand, however the possibilities are endless: raisins, granola, greek yogurt, molasses, banana, chia seeds, chocolate chips...

Excuse me, I have to whip the drool off my keyboard.
Sorry about that.

Please, go to your kitchen right now. Whip up the mixture and stick it in your fridge. You can thank me tomorrow morning when you wake up to an already-made piece of heaven.

  1. Oh Alex I live for overnight oats!! They are the best thing....you don't have to worry about doing anything in the morning but grabbing a spoon. My favorite mix is oats, almond milk, chia seeds, diced green apple, raisins, and cinnamon.

  2. Alex, will quaker instant oats work instead of rolled oats?
